You want supplements to build muscle? You walk into a local health food store and are astounded at how many products there are to chose from.

With the astounding number of supplement available, which ones to purchase to satisfy the goals of one person is a little more tricky. Many supplement help build muscle, but does the particular supplement coincide with the goals that you have set.

Although supplements are not needed to build muscle, they will help speed the process up. In the case of working out here are a few supplements that will help increase muscle development. They help both in growth and recovery of muscles.

There are many numerous products available, I will list the top three;

  • Protein
  • Creatine
  • Multi-Vitamins

Protein is the # 1 supplement on a bodybuilders list as well as people who exercise a lot. Protein when in the system breaks down to amino acids which help build muscles. If one is trying to build muscle the first part of the diet or supplement should contain a lot of protein

For gaining muscle the proportion of protein taken in per pound of body weight is; 2 grams protein/ every pound of body weight. (ex.a 150 lbs person would take in 300 grams of protein a day) Note only if working out heavily

Protein comes in pill form, powder, or bars. When selecting the protein supplement, look at the ingredients and make sure the following are included; whey, soy and eggs.  These are ideal supplements for protein and will get you off to a good start. Creatine is another supplement that will increase muscle mass and improve recovery time.

Creatine also helps to increase muscle strength by allowing you to do more reps with more weight. A note of caution, creatine usually takes a week to ten days of, what is called a loading period in your body. Once loaded it needs to be used in cycles two weeks on two weeks off.  To get the best benefit from creatine as possible, follow the manufacture instructions.

Multi-vitamins work great for those who from their normal diets are not getting enough vitamins and minerals. A busy schedule makes it very hard to eat healthy, it matters not our intentions. The body can get its needs met by the use of vitamin supplements. Especially for muscle building, the use of proper supplements and or protein bars or shakes if a healthy meal can not be eaten.

Building muscle is a lifestyle that I am sure a lot more individuals would like to get into. It does require commitment and a lot of exercise, but one should also have the correct supplements as well. If the correct supplements are used, it will only take a matter of weeks to start noticing results.

The correct supplements will speed up the process and help you build muscle.
