In more recent years medical science has come to recognize that the “natural world” that we live in holds many more secrets to cures and remedies of a number of bodily ailments that we have.
Let us take for instance that sharks are not known to develop cancer of any kind, scientist are trying to find out the reason for this. The same toxins in the venom of vipers and scorpions are used to create the anti-toxin for those particular animals.
Some herbal remedies have been used for centuries by the same cultures with very great success, with great enough success creating a system within the culture. ie. Traditional Chinese Medicine in China or Ayurvedic Medicine in India.
So to have a pain relief that is derived from various herbs, is not surprising. Herbal remedies or “concoctions” made of herbs have been in use for many centuries, for good and bad effects. The plant world has introduced to modern medicine a whole new spectrum of ideas to draw from. Even some addictive substances such as; cannabis or poppy seed can have some pain relieving qualities, but are not used as much because of their properties.
There are some essential oils that are very effective at dulling pain when mixed with olive or coconut oils and massaged in rigorously, these oils are; lavender, pine, juniper or rosemary to name a few.
A herb that works for many things and is usually used for depression, but works as both a muscle relaxer and pain relief is St. John’s Wort. This herb is also useful when treating nerves for the simple fact that the herb works on the whole nervous system not just damaged parts.
A similar plant that has been used for centuries by practicing herbalist to relieve pain is a plant called “vervain”, it works in the same way that aspirin works. Other herbs that combat chronic pain of the nervous system include herbs such as the California poppy and oats.
Any local health market will have these herbal formulas available, or if you choose to make your own tinctures the herbs will be available of their own accord. If one choose to go the route of essential oils for their nervous system, rose oil when mixed with a carrier oil and rubbed into affected areas has a very soothing effect on the nervous system.
Rose oil also has some very effective anti-inflammatory properties that work very well when used with conditions like arthritis or muscle pains. It has even been used successfully to treat menstrual cramps and the conditions that go along with that because of the properties of rose oil.
Rose oil has many benefits, formulas that contain rose oil have been used to treat imbalances in hormones as well as help strengthen the immune system.
Dealing with pain relief the combination’s of herbal remedies are almost endless. Even in traditional medicine, doctors and pharmacist will sometimes mix up formulas and or mixtures that have been handed down through time for specific areas of pain.
Modern medicine still isn’t on a roll with these chemicals as of yet though, they are still seen as a little behind when it come to treating people naturally with these compounds.
When you look at systems that have been treating people for centuries with the desire effect that they want, these systems like Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda.
Hopefully modern medicine will take a cue from these two systems that have been doing the same thing for centuries and do some catching up in the near future. That will make it better on all of us “less chemicals in our bodies”

Natural herbs have been used since the beginning of time, to relieve pain. Not only in the form of medicine, but also applied directly to the skin of the patient.
