Can you imagine the magical powers of soaking in a bath tub full of herbs and each of the herbs that you used in the tub are draining the stress and tension out of your body as you sit and relax, leaving you to feel worry free and transformed to another person.
Well, let me tell you taking a relaxing, calming bath is probably the best way to cast the cares of a this fast paced society off your shoulders and relax. Sometimes it is harder to start your day of with a bath all though if you tried it you would have a much more relaxing day, but it is a great stress reliever before bedtime.
Herb and essential oils used in the bath water will not only relax your mind, body and spirit, they are also good for your complexion. Before you ever plan on stealing away for a relaxing soak in the tub, there are a few things that is probably good to make sure of first.
- 1. Make sure the bathroom is fresh and clean
- 2. Make sure everything you need for the bath or in the bath is handy , so you do not have to get out to get something such as; bath gels, herbs, loofah and even your towel.
- 3. Set the mood with relaxing music and make sure that you have some aromatic candles lit around you.
- 4. Finally make sure that everything that you will be using during the bath is withing your reach.
You can either create your own bag of herbs for bathing or you may purchase one. If creating your own bag you can create it while the tub is filling. It is advisable to go over your skin head to toe, maybe with the loofah to remove any dead skin before getting started.
If you choose to create your own herb bag. Use muslin cloth or if you have an old pair of socks you could cut a section out of them and fill with the herbs that you have. After you have your herb bag created put it in the bath water, this will infuse your water with the herbs you have chosen.
Some suggestions to use in herb bags; bath salts, rose petals, lavender flowers, citrus leaves of course all dried. You can put anything else you wish its up to you its your time.
Like I mentioned previously if you choose not to create your herb bag, you can purchase pre-made bags. If you choose to use essential oils, limit yourself to five drops total of essential oils per bath. They may be diluted with a carrier oil or with milk since they are being used in bath.
